ABOUT LENNY MONSOU
Born and raised in a family of musicians, Lenny Monsou got access to a professional home studio at an early age. His father being a drummer (Time Bandits, Moonflower) and producer and his mother a singer (Moonflower). When his older brother Daniel Monsou picked up the guitar, Lenny soon followed his example and started writing his own songs at the age of 10. When he was 12 he released his first songs on an actual CD. He started playing piano as well. But singing and writing songs became his true passion. Lenny was accepted at the pop/rock school Herman Brood Academy as their youngest student at 15 and developed his producing skills, writing and singing in a killer pace. In 2022 he graduated with the highest score possible for Artistic Skills (grade 10).
Lenny was 19 years old, when he signed with Warner Music Benelux. He released his debut single "Never Fall In Love" in april 2024. Lenny was named 3FM Talent when he blew away the DJ's with his live performance of his second single "Telephone" on 3FM. His debut EP with the titeltrack "Idolizer" was released October 2024 followed by the Idolizer tour in the spring. NTR broadcasted Lenny live at Noorderslag 2025 on national TV and Lenny was nominated "Best Newcomer 2024" at the 3FM AWARDS.
Lenny has big dreams so he was excited to play at The Great Escape in Brighton, after signing to one of the best UK agencies, Free Trade Agency (War on Drugs, The National, Pierce Brothers). This summer is highlighted with festivals (o.a. Concert at Sea, Dijkpop, Appelpop) and after that Reeperbahn in Hamburg (DE) to pursue his ambitions for an international career. Playing live is one of Lenny's favorite things in life, so you can also find him with his band at Popronde 2025, for which Lenny was proudly selected OOR Talent. In October Lenny will support Gavin James at his intimite acoustic tour through the Netherlands. And after that: the Rockstar ALIBI Tour!
